The chÔteau sits on a hillside surrounded by gardens, rolling meadows and woodland, ensuring total peace and privacy. La BourlieÆs architecture with its sand coloured stones is typical of the PÚrigord Noir radiating warmth and great charm. Lemon trees line the courtyard and the walls are covered in climbing roses which accentuate the enchanting atmosphere. With origins dating back to the XIVth century, La Bourlie, a listed historic monument has been in our family for more than six hundred years and remains our home today. You will be staying in the west wing of the chÔteau which is entirely self-contained. It comprises the Fournial and Chapelain situated on either side of the chapel and sleeps up to nine people. We have paid great attention to the interiors, respecting original features but also incorporating all modern amenities. The rooms are decorated in warm colours, an unusual mix of fabrics and comfortably furnished with family antiques. The garden with its generous pool simply set in the midst of a large lawn has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. A couple of fine trees offer shade for a snooze in the hammock and you can pick fresh herbs in the aromatic garden for your meals and to make tisane. You are of course also welcome to enjoy the park and benefit from the many walks through the estate and its woodlands.
